Aims
To improve the quality of life for those that are housebound whether it be through age, disability or illness and also persons caring for them.
As the name of the group implies, art, craft, social and recreational activities are the means employed to create a relaxed atmosphere in which members can achieve, without fear of failure. In this way, members acquire new skills and also retain skills previously learned. Members are encouraged to interact socially. Having common craft and recreational interests is an aid to this interaction. By these methods, the quality of life for our members is enhanced, confidence is increased and integration into the mainstream of society is made easier.
Also, C.A.T.A. has always recognised the needs of the carer, and of the family, of the member and believes that by enhancing the quality of the member’s life, benefits will flow to the member’s family, providing respite from the sometimes arduous task of caring for disabled family members.
