One of the desired outcomes listed in CATA’s strategic plan is to increase revenue diversification and distribution. The plan lists a number of ways to achieve this outcome including developing relationships with businesses and charitable organisations. As a first step to implementing these ideas CATA’s Administration Manager and I recently attended a Not for Profits Stakeholder and Partnerships conference in Melbourne. About 40 other organisations were represented at the conference which ran for 3 days. The conference generated great enthusiasm and optimism amongst the delegates and clarified the pathways that would most likely lead towards the establishment of mutually beneficial partnerships with corporate organisations. A key theme from the conference included seeking partners with common values and core business activities. Another was applying web based technology to develop gifting opportunities that people not usually associated with CATA may use. E.g. regular donations from staff of corporate partners. Over the coming months CATA will identify and pursue partnership opportunities with various corporate organisations and do this in cooperation with our amalgamation partner RISE. I look forward to reporting success to you in the future about CATA’s partnership program.
Our volunteer’s dinner was held on 19th June and saw more than 76 people attend. People who attended included all CATA Board members, CATA volunteers and their guests, and some staff members. Of the 57 volunteers who actively assist CATA’s clients 42 came along to the dinner. All volunteers were presented with a framed certificate of appreciation. This year in addition to providing a complimentary meal to volunteers CATA also gave its currently active volunteers a $50.00 Coles / Myer voucher. These gifts were given in recognition of the invaluable help given to CATA’s clients throughout the year by our volunteer base. CATA’s sincerest thanks is extended to all our volunteers for their commitment and ongoing support. If you have yet to receive your voucher and have actively volunteered for CATA during the 14/15 financial year please make sure to contact Laura on 9448 8804 or email@example.com to secure your gift.
