What a monumental day the Melbourne Cup was. It was a most exciting race when a female jockey rode the winning horse into the history books. It was the first Tuesday of the month of November as it is per usual, but this day was to be different than any other race day of the Melbourne cup. Prince of Penzance has won the 155th running of the Cup ridden by Michelle Payne.

On top of all that the clients enjoyed the atmosphere of the day and the excitement of the running of the race. There were loud cheers for those who won the sweep stakes and a few oh no’s for those that didn’t win. But the compensation was a lovely lunch of roast chicken, potatoes and vegetables. And a lovely CATA made trifle to round off the meal.

It was another wonderful social event put on by CATA full of fun and colourful hats and fascinators. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere. There were prizes for the best hats and fabulous    music accompanied us throughout the day. The staff and volunteers worked very hard to make sure a good time was had by all, and I believe that goal was achieved.

A big thank you to all who attended the day ,without your support we at CATA would achieve nothing. It is our absolute pleasure to provide such events for all to partake in and we look forward to delivering many wonderful occasions. Thank you once again, looking forward to our next meeting.
