Amalgamation with RISE Network continues to be a topic of discussion here at CATA. Recent key events associated with the amalgamation decision making process have included the letting and assessment of due diligence tenders. Abbott Solutions (CATA’s financial auditors) have been selected to conduct due diligence on RISE and will complete this no later than 18th December 2015. The due diligence process involves inviting external auditors to review each of the organisations proposing to amalgamate. This helps to ensure no surprises exist for both CATA and RISE.
CATA’s Board will consider the results of the due diligence process in early 2016 and develop a recommendation about whether to proceed with amalgamation or not. A Special General Meeting scheduled for 11.00 am, Thursday 4th February 2015 here at CATA will consider the Board’s recommendation. The meeting will then decide whether to wind up our organisation and amalgamate with RISE or not. All CATA members are invited to attend this very important meeting.
On another matter, CATA was one of three finalists at the recent 2015 WorkSafe Awards (Cat 3). On this occasion Excel Robotics won the award. On behalf of CATA I’d like to offer our congratulations to the winners.
Christmas is approaching and so is our annual Christmas lunch for clients. This year we have invited a professional magician to entertain people at their tables during the event. The lunch is scheduled for Wednesday 9th December, so please put this date in your diaries and watch out for further details in the mail.
This month’s cartoon illustrates the importance of due diligence and how things can sometimes be quite different from what you expect them to be.
